Everything is clearly structured, from the initial inquiry to the final image selection. Shoots run efficiently, calmly, and predictably—even for larger projects. Photographing several dozen employees in a single day is not an exception, but part of a clean workflow.

I always think of corporate and brand photography in terms of visual languages and concepts.
It’s not about individual pretty pictures, but about a visual line that fits the organization, the roles of the individuals, and the intended use. Photography only begins once the concept and briefing are in place.

During the shoot itself, I lead through the process in a clear and composed manner.

A few more words about me

I’m a newcomer to Berlin. Originally, I come from beautiful Middle Franconia—from Erlangen (Wissenswertes über Erlangen, Foyer des Artes, 1982) to be precise. After graduating high school, I studied photography for a year at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, which has had a lasting impact on me to this day.

Alongside photography, I was passionate about the Spanish language, traveling, and Mexico back then. Consequently, I moved to Berlin in the early 90s to study Ancient American Studies. I’ve called Kreuzberg home ever since, and the vibrant energy of Berlin has kept me here.

When traveling, I love street photography—capturing landscapes, people, and scenes of everyday life. Because of my studies, I visited Latin America frequently, especially Peru. I organized mountain bike tours in the Andes with a fellow student. This led to slide shows about these “adventure and cultural journeys at the navel of the world.”

My studies eventually shifted toward computers, software (the Y2K bug), and business informatics. Later, I ended up at Microsoft. During that time, I used many business trips to the USA to extend my stay privately and head out to take photos. And honestly, America is just incredibly photogenic—especially New York, which is a paradise for street photographers.

Actually, photography has always accompanied me throughout that entire time (alongside work). Fortunately, Berlin had and still has many great opportunities in this field. The Photo Centrum at VHS Kreuzberg, imago Fotokunst, Ostkreuzschule, and many more… were my training grounds.

Well, long story short: After many years in IT—a field I still find exciting—I started my own business three years ago as a corporate & portrait photographer in Berlin.

What does the "Q" actually stand for?

You might think it stands for Quality or Quantity?

But you’d be wrong.

The reason is more mundane. In 1998, my good friend Paul gave all our friends their domain—YourSurname.de—for their birthdays. Except for me.

The domain jasper.de was already taken by Jasper Busreisen. Tough luck.

But we didn’t give up. While brainstorming an alternative, James Bond’s “Q” came to mind. Pronounced in American English, jasper q just sounded cool.

In 2014, I managed to secure the domain extension .photography. And voilà, jasperq.photography finally became my company name:
